Plastics and the environment
The heads of the Röchling Foundation see themselves as having both a corporate and familial responsibility. The main thematic focus of the projects we fund is on plastics and the environment. The reasons for this can be deduced from our corporate values. We like to think of our projects as a means of getting the ball rolling and providing support at the start. On completion, they should ideally continue running under their own steam for the benefit of all those involved.
Engagement and expertise
Our present and future work goes beyond sponsoring individual projects, however. Our involvement begins earlier, where engagement is taken seriously and professionalised – in the form of supporting the full-time helpers. We consider such individual training and continuing education measures to be just as important as interdisciplinary scientific platforms, be they in the form of publications, podium discussions, dialogues or research projects.
